Went to Abingdon fair with Kai on Monday this week, he loved it. He went on a few rides, trains, rollercoaster simulater and mini-ferriswheel. I tried to convince him to go on some bigger rides, but the dare-devil in him must've been elsewhere for the day, oh well he is only four!
I've spent the rest of the week either at work or at Fiona's house.
I bought some new albums, namely Varsions by The Lemonheads and Grace and Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk by Jeff Buckley. I've started listening to Varsions, either it's really not that great or my blinkered approach to The Lemonheads is waning. Oh hum, it is only a stop gap covers album I suppose.
I had a meeting on Wednesday in Bracknell and formalised my start date etc there, Monday 19th October to be precise on a six month secondament. Same company, same position but a big, albeit temporary, pay rise. Victory is mine. So I'm into my last week and a half of my current job, I'm nervous as hell to be honest - new staff, new location, new new new and it scares me. Oh well, get on with it and stop moaning!! Just got to tell the guys that I support that I'm leaving, that should be fun. At least some of the guy's families will be pleased I'm going. *rasp*. Some people just can't accept that their little boy is now, and has been for eleven years, a man with all the rights that go with it. Bollocks, I did I best, at least on the person centred support, not necessarily the paperwork side, but then that's boring and a long held hatred of mine. Tick your boxes, social services, tick them and care not that the guys I support are happy, healthy and, most importantly, treated like people.
Oh! Also bough this kick arse Media Centre from Western Digital. You plug in an external hard drive and it plays music, movies and pictures! Exciting? Hell yeah! Now I just need to back up all my DVDs to hard drive and put them into storage. My work is never done. :-)
